Virtual Image Training

Here’s how I see it. You have great fashion instincts. You’ve taken some classes (or read some books) and have many of the technical skills to determine what clothing works (or doesn’t). But you may be stuck on how to put these skills to good use, structure your individual client sessions, capitalize on your talents, and make money!

I can help.

I have been offering personal image consulting services (initial consultations, wardrobe and personal shopping) for over twenty years. I love what I do and have a healthy base of repeat clients.  More importantly, I take great pride in sharing my knowledge with new consultants and would love nothing more than to help you build a wildly successful image or styling business!

We’ve all heard the saying, “Those who can do. Those who can’t teach.” What makes my boutique training classes so unique is that you get the best of both worlds. My work with my private clients helps me be a better trainer.

I know the pitfalls and challenges. I know how to generate business and be successful. I know what it takes to develop and grow as an image professional.

Let me help you to “put your style to work!” Please contact me for details.

Go Figure: Get Confident with Body Analysis

1 Day Tuition Fee: $750
May 2020 (Date TBD)

If you’re still finding it tough to ‘shop the racks’ for clothing that fits your clients’ figure needs, it’s time for a fresh understanding of the basic elements of line and design. The key to really ‘getting it’ lies in understanding the different body shapes and characteristics, then knowing how to dress them for the most flattering effect. Join industry insider Carol Davidson, CPC, AICI CIP as she gives you her insights for becoming more confident in your wardrobe recommendations.

In this session you will discover how to help clients make clothing choices that flatter their unique figures using the principals of optical illusion; incorporate elements of color, line and design to achieve great results; and explore communication strategies that weave sensitivity and diplomacy with the necessary assessment skills.

Identify a client’s shoulder and waist characteristics and hip placement.

  • Determine a client’s body shape and type.
  • Assess appropriate solutions for different body shapes and specific body challenges.
  • Define vertical proportions of the body.
  • Identify four universally flattering clothing shapes.

Focus on Fit: How to Match the Clothes to the Client

3 Hour Seminar: $275
 Date and Time TBD

Even the most experienced shopper can be intimidated when shopping for someone else. We know where we shop, what we like and what works for us.  But with all of the different styles, brands and fits, it’s hard to know what will work best for a client.  Do you ever wish you had a cheat sheet on different manufacturers and for what type of clients they work best?  Join me for this three-hour seminar and get the inside scoop on what “fits” your client in every way.

Included is:

  • An understanding of how many brands fit
  • A look at the current trends and the over-arching fashion style(s) for each brand
  • Insights about the layout of a department store and working with a department store shopper

This class is held on-site at Macy’s, the “World’s Largest Department Store.” This shopping mecca has a vast array of merchandise, but is often over-looked because its sheer size can be overwhelming. A long-time favorite of natives and tourists alike, Macy’s earned its reputation as the go-to for wardrobe basics.  While you will still find plenty of these staples in store, many are surprised to discover that Macy’s also serves as a destination for size-inclusive, on-trend merchandise. If you haven’t shopped there in a while, it’s time to take a fresh look at the most-visited retail store in the U.S.

You will also receive a personal introduction to a Macy’s Personal Shopper with whom you can partner to provide your clients with a “boutique” shopping experience. Of course we’ll leave time to shop and you can receive my expert advice—and assistance—if you so desire.
